Welcome Back Panthers!

We are excited to welcome our Fruit Valley students and families to the 2016-2017 school year! We look forward to reconnecting with our continuing students and families, and would like to extend a warm welcome to those of you who may be new to Fruit Valley!

I am thrilled to be joining the Fruit Valley community as your new principal. Throughout the August kindergarten Jump Start I have met several of our families and stu-dents, and look forward to meeting everyone as the school year begins. As your principal, I value making school a safe, enriching and fun experience for children, and that the school is a community center focused on creating a culture of universal success with our students and families.

Our Back to School Barbecue is on Monday, August 29th from 5-6:30 p.m. As in the past, Burgerville, River’s Edge Church, the Fruit Valley Neighborhood Association and our Fruit Valley PTO are partnering to provide hamburgers and all the fixings. Dinner will be served on the north playground (near McCallister Village) where you can enjoy your meal under the covered area after your child meets his/her teacher. Again this year, we’ve re-ceived a generous amount of school supply donations from our amazing partners and com-munity members. The supplies and backpacks will be distributed directly to the class-rooms. Thank you to everyone who donated supplies and/or volunteered to help us get the year started.

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 31st. Our cafeteria opens at 8 a.m. for breakfast, with classrooms open to students at 8:20 a.m. School begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. Although we know kids are excited about coming back to school, for safety rea-sons, please do not have your child(ren) arrive any earlier than 8:00 a.m.

See you soon!

Mr. Fechter
