Welcome to Fruit Valley Elementary School!
Dear Families,
It is with great joy and gratitude that I welcome you to our school community. As a mom, a wife, a teacher at heart, and now your principal, I carry with me both the personal and professional experiences that shape the way I lead. I am a proud Mexican-American and a multilingual learner, and I know firsthand the power of feeling seen, supported, and celebrated.
My leadership is grounded in building trusting relationships, working in collaboration, centering every decision on students, and approaching challenges with creativity, equity, and a good dose of humor and fun.
I believe schools should be safe, calm, and predictable places for children and adults alike. That means calm classrooms, predictable systems, and consistent support for both students and staff. When adults are given the space to breathe, reset, and feel supported, they show up fully for kids. And when students feel safe, emotionally regulated, and valued, they are more likely to thrive.
At the heart of our work is a culture of belonging. Students thrive when they know they matter. Staff bring their best when they feel connected and supported. Families engage most deeply when they feel they have a voice and a place at the table. Belonging is the foundation for engagement, motivation, and lasting relationships.
Together, we will create a place where every child knows they are valued, every family feels welcomed, and every staff member feels supported. I am honored to walk alongside you in this work and excited for the year ahead.
Sincerely,
Denisse Barba
Principal
